Welcome to Chateau LaFayette Reneau
Another harvest is upon us at Chateau LaFayette Reneau. Our winemaker and vineyard staff have been working long days, often beneath inky skies, with only the flicker of the setting sun holding the darkness at bay. After a particularly dry season peppered with dreams of rain, we've been blessed with exceptional fruit. Our grapes may be smaller and weigh less than past vintages, but the fruit is concentrated with opulent flavors and high brick content. Our winemaker foresees a season of wines as rich and flavorful as any previous vintage.
Established in 1985, the Chateau LaFayette Reneau tasting room is situated in a fully-restored, century-old barn nestled on the southeast side of Seneca Lake in the Finger Lakes. The stony shale soil and rolling slopes of Seneca Lake--the deepest of the glacier-cut Finger Lakes--are ideally suited for growing cool-climate grapes.
For over 30 years, Chateau LaFayette Reneau has produced estate-grown vinifera wines. Our 140-acre estate provides optimal sun exposure and air flow for consistently aromatic white wines and rich, full-bodied red wines. An award-winning winery, we are home to three highly acclaimed Governor's Cup Awards, all awarded to our premier Rieslings. Our commitment to quality and integrity in grape growing and winemaking results in the finest Finger Lakes wines.
We invite you to come for a visit. Drink in our breathtaking views and savor our fine wines, all inspired by nature.
